A 40-year-old organisation promoting Christian education in Wales has relaunched itself as the Religious Education Movement Wales (REMW).

The name change coincides with a new and broader remit to provide support for advisers, teachers and pupils learning about other faiths as well as Christianity.

The movement organises practical courses, an annual meeting featuring guest speakers and adapts books for primary schools into Welsh. It is funded by annual contributions from local authorities. Schools in authorities supporting the movement receive copies of its termly RE Ideas newsletter, as well as support for enhancing RE teaching.

For more information, email Sali Roberts, the REMW secretary, at sali@patshyn.fsnet.co.uk or telephone 01654 761697.
