Cardiff Under the Bed Sherman Arena December 2-28. The Sherman and Theatre Centre join forces in Brendan Murray’s play about bedtime stories for under 7s. Touring Wales in November.

Chester Beauty and the Beast Gateway November 30-January 11. Jonathan Hall brings the story’s magic into the Nineties.

Edinburgh The Sleeping Beauty Royal Lyceum December 6-January 4. Stuart Paterson’s latest in the hands of another of his regular directors Hugh Hodgart.

Ipswich The Secret Garden Wolsey December 10-January 18. Wolsey director Antony Tuckey adapts the Frances Hodgson Burnett classic.

Lancaster The Snow Queen Dukes December 5-January 4, in Damien Cruden’s version.

Leeds Peter Pan West Yorkshire Playhouse November 22-January 18. Return of acclaimed 1995 Matthew Warchus production.

Leicester Baba Yaga Bony Legs Haymarket Studio December 5-January 4. Banyan Theatre team up with the Haymarket to tell a Russian folk tale with puppets for 3-5s.

Manchester A Little Princess Library Theatre November 29-January 18. Dave Simpson adapts the other Hodgson Burnett. Riches-to-rags story of a Victorian orphan who keeps up standards.

Milford Haven The Emperor’s New Clothes Torch November 28-January 4. Nordic Hans Andersen with Latin American rhythms.

Mold The Snow Queen Theatr Clwyd November 29-January 18. Stuart Paterson’s warm-hearted version of the story of the cold-hearted queen.

Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Merlin the Magnificent Playhouse December 9-January 11. Revival of early Stuart Paterson directed and designed by experienced Paterson man Neil Murray. The Terrible Grump Gulbenkian Studio November 14-January 4. Newcastle’s other offering is Chris Speyer’s dose of simple story, songs, lovable wildlife and fun participation for under-6s.

North Staffordshire Beauty and the Beast New Victoria November 27-January 18. John Kirkpatrick’s music goes with this play by Jan Page.

Scarborough The Champion of Paribanou Stephen Joseph November 29-January 4. Alan Ayckbourn’s latest play weaves a new magic carpet for time-travelling tales.

Southend-on-Sea Cinderella Palace November 30-January 4. Written and composed by David Wood.

Sheffield Beauty and the Beast Crucible Studio December 4-January 4. Resident writer Richard Hurford retells the story for 5-12s.

Worcester Peter Pan Swan December 2-January 4 in a version by Philip Monks and director Jenny Stephens.

Wythenshawe Charlotte’s Web Forum November 22-January 18. Joseph Robinette adapts E B White’s literary tale of the literate spider for over-5s.
