BRITAIN’S major churches will be praying for more teachers this Sunday amid continuing concerns over recruitment and retention. They will mark “Education Sunday“with prayers, hymns and extracts from The TES’s My Best Teacher series. Suggested hymns include “Teach me to dance to the beat of your heart” and “For I’m building a people of power” while a prayer on the Baptist Church website says: “To all entrusted with teaching, our prayers reach out today. . . . As seeds of hope are sown in schools, churches and places of further education.”
