A group of Fife pupils who transformed wasteland into a popular mountain bike “skills loop” have won an award.
The nine Lochgelly High youngsters took the Royal Bank of Scotland Community Impact Award at The Prince’s Trust Scotland’s annual Celebrate Success Awards last month.
They have participated in a range of projects since joining the trust’s Club xl programme. The group created a wildflower meadow around the bike park, and sold flowers as part of an enterprise project. They also worked on the Get On Yer Bike programme, which encouraged physical health and mental well-being.
