Tens of thousands of children and young people will join in a Scotland-wide ballot this month to coincide with the 21st anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

They are being asked to identify their priorities on which they expect policy-makers to act.

The ballot follows a national consultation by Scotland’s Children’s Commissioner, Tam Baillie, and will take place online and at voting centres in schools around Scotland. It is hoped that as many as 50,000 young people will vote.

The count will take place during December and the results will be announced in January.
