The stark contrasts between the lives of Scottish and Kenyan pupils are revealed in a new Amnesty International resource.
The education pack for secondary pupils, Poverty and Human Rights, includes a play and presentation for a special assembly, lesson plans and films, and is accompanied by the Taking Action Project, which aims to inspire young people to do something about poverty. The pack helps teachers guide pupils through the planning, carrying out and evaluation of a campaign, and provides advice on starting a youth group, plus resources on interview skills, lobbying and banner-making.
The launch of the pack, which is suitable for schools throughout the UK, was timed to coincide with International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17.
