IT was a trip down memory lane for Charles Clarke and Stephen Szemerenyi, who taught the Education Secretary Latin and football at the private Highgate School, London. Mr Szemerenyi, SHA pay and conditions consultant, described Mr Clarke as a “good lad”. Mr Clarke had less rosy memories, recalling that as goalkeeper he had suffered the agony of Mr Szemerenyi blasting a ball that had hit him on the chest.
