The Hansard Society is bringing politicians to the classroom to explain what goes on in Westminster and the role of Parliament .

Big Ben and All That is a free CD-Rom for citizenship teachers where individual MPs, peers and teachers discuss topics to raise political literacy. It also contains archived footage of recent parliamentary events and teaching aids and resources to help with lesson-planning and further research.

Bridget Prentice, a minister at the Department of Constitutional Affairs, which backed the project, said: “This will help teachers understand more about how Parliament works and hopefully will make a real difference to the way in which politics is taught in our schools.”
