In response to the article on the Code of Practice (TES, February 3) I am a special education needs co-ordinator in a secondary school with 22 statemented pupils and I have suddenly been deluged with a mountain of paper deeper than any national curriculum folder. I have estimated that for some of these pupils I could be marshalling up to 100 pieces of paper.
I have no extra time for this amount of administrative work. The reality of the Code of Practice is that the majority of the work envisaged by the Government has fallen to hard pressed SENCOs in cash-starved schools.
