The prospect of a college in East Renfrewshire has come a step closer, with the announcement of a pound;3 million contribution from the Scottish Funding Council to the pound;15 million project in Barrhead. East Renfrewshire Council is putting up pound;9 million and hopes for European and lottery funding to plug the remaining gap. The local council will build the facility and run it jointly with Reid Kerr, Cardonald and Langside colleges.
