FURTHER education colleges are to be brought within the scope of the Ethical Standards (Scotland) Bill, which completed its Parliamentary stages on Wednesday. This means that their operations will be subject to the new Standards Commission.

Henry McLeih, the Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Minister, assured college principals and board chairs last week that “this is not an attack on your integrity or ethics,” simply an acknowledgement that the colleges handle very large sums of public money.
