Come back

It sounds like magic. Take a low-tech classroom whiteboard, attach a six-inch device to one corner and “Hey presto!”, it’s a fully-featured interactive whiteboard.

Designed in the United States and distributed around the world, eBeam is a boomerang-shaped giz-mo that scans the board and sends images to a PC or Mac in real-time. In this mode, it can be used to record and re-use entire lessons. But the real trick takes place when the computer is connected to a data projector. The loop is then complete and the entire system works like an interactive whiteboard, with two big advantages eBeam is more portable and it is half the price.

It might look like a boomerang. But eBeam won’t come back to your classroom by itself.
