It’s showtime. That time of year when anyone with an interest in educational technology heads for Olympia, London, to check out all that’s new at the annual bett show. While this Online is focused on bett, it’s also designed as a showpiece of the best curriculum ict available for use in classrooms, so dip inside.

While bett is probably the biggest show of its kind on earth, last year Learning and Teaching Scotland stole some of its thunder with sett 2003 in Glasgow, where visitors were wowed to see learning leading technology (it’s taken some time!). Teachers packed out every 600-seat keynote session. That is a trend we will hopefully see more of at bett in years to come, and one that should be encouraged. The TES plays its part as media partner to Becta’s excellent ict in Practice Awards, possibly the best teacher showcase of the four days of bett. Come to the presentations in Room A on Thursday morning (10.30), and take time to hear our keynote, Stephen Heppell, one of the most motivational international speakers on this subject. We guarantee that you won’t leave this session without hearing something inspiring.

And if you miss out on the awards, or can’t make bett, visit the website of the complementary Ramesys Learning Platform Awards: www.ramesys.comLearningEnvironmentAwards Merlin John, editor
