AS a redundant lecturer with a postgraduate certificate in education who has had a few unsuccessful interviews with schools in my area, I was interested to hear that a neighbouring authority was suffering a recruitment crisis.
Three weeks ago I submitted my CV and requested to be informedof any vacancies. Result - nothing! My own local authority regularly sends me its teacher vacancy bulletins, but it would seem that our nearest city is neither serious about filling vacancies nor polite enough to inform me that they are not interested!
