To mark the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the launch of its Their Past Your Future website, the Imperial War Museum is running a lottery-funded competition called “Their past, your future: commemorative visits”. Exploring issues such as conflict, citizenship and the enduring global impact of the War, it offers UK schools the chance to win educational visits abroad for GCSE and A-level pupils.
Destinations include: Berlin in March; Singapore and New Zealand in April; Canada and the UK in May; Thailand and Japan in August (to witness the official commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb).
