PARTNERSHIP IN FOCUS. Photographs depicting school and college teachers on industrial placements could win up to Pounds 500 for the pictured teacher’s school. Entries from young people welcome. Closing date: November 29. The competition is sponsored by Understanding British Industry’s Teacher Placement Service, Agfa UK, and the Department for Education and Employment. ROBERT SCHUMAN ESSAY COMPETITION. Young EU citizens aged 16-18 are invited to submit an essay by December 31 on “European culture - what does this mean to you?” to the European People’s Party Group (Christian Democrats). The best three entrants will receive a scholarship for a study or language course in the EU and a trip to Strasbourg or Brussels to see the European Parliament in action. SCHOOL CHARTER: ANNE FRANK EDUCATIONAL TRUST. There is still time for primary and secondary schools to submit their ideas for a school charter to help promote Anne Frank’s hopes and ideals. An additional arts and crafts prize will be awarded by the Graves Gallery, Sheffield, for the most creative interpretation.
