THE RIBA ARCHITECTURE IN EDUCATION AWARD The Royal Institute of British Architects has created this new category in its annual awards. The winner of this category will then compete with the other category winners for the Pounds 20,000 Stirling Prize (Building of the Year Award). Judging takes place over the summer. Anyone wishing to nominate a building should write to: Nancy Mills, RIBA Awards Office, Birmingham and Midlands Institute, Margaret Street, Birmingham B3 3SP.

OPEN UNIVERSITY PHOTOGRAPHIC CHALLENGE Students aged 11-20 are invited to send pictures of young people to the OU by May 31. A fee will be paid for pictures selected for use in future study material for a new OU course called “Working with Young People”. Entries to: Carole Jeffery, School of Health and Social Welfare, The OU, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes MK7 6AA (entrants should ask permission of the people they photograph and enclose an SAE if they want work returned).
