FRUSTRATION all round for those teachers attempting to boldly go beyond the threshold and get their pound;2,000 pay rise via cyberspace. Complaints about the DFEE’s shiny on-line application forms have been legion.

But for those for whom it all became too much, there are virtual distractions to be had. Hilary Chamberlain of Barnet writes to the Diary of a chnce discovery while searching for a website on teachers and performance pay.

The subject has spawned its very own dedicated anagram site - www.anagramgenius.comarchiveperfor.html if you’re interested. And what does it make of “performance-related pay”? Nothing more than “mere end-of-year claptrap”.
