The EIS general secretary listened intently to the education debate, as did Ken Wimbor, assistant secretary, and the fine words on class sizes from Jack Barnett, union president.
Barnett drew international comparisons on class sizes and an analogy rather closer to home. "Scotland is the Dunfermline Athletic or even Livingston of the premier league when it comes to class sizes," he gibed.
What a coincidence that Wimbor is a big fan of the Fifers and Smith a renowned Livvie man. Nice to have an "in" gag, Jack.
