* Voice of the Listener and Viewer is an association fighting to preserve the quality, diversity and independence of British radio and television. Their autumn conference “Public Service Broadcasting: Its Purpose in the Digital Age” will be held on November 18, 11am-3.30pm at Hamilton House, Mabledon Place, London. Sir John Birt, BBC director general, will be the speaker in the morning with the theme of the BBC’s public purposes in the digital age. VLV members can attend for Pounds 8.50 + Pounds 5 lunch (optional), non-members Pounds 45.
