The Historical Association’s Conference of the True Millennium will be held in Grey College, Durham University, July 25-28. Lectures include Sir Arnold Wolfendale on “1,000 Years of Astronomy: where next?”; Professor David Knight on “1,000 Years of Science”; and Revd Dr Gavin Wakefield on “1,000 Years of Christianity”. Dicussion group topics include: medieval monks, the Roman woman, the Venerable Bede and Suleyman the Magnificent. Outings will be organised. Called by God: RE teaching, a Christian vocation? is the theme of a conference for RE teachers and trainees at St John’s College, Nottingham, September 14-16.
