Continental drift has gone far too far

As geography teachers we are familiar with the theory of continental drift. We were a little surprised, though, to see in the magazine quiz (22 July) that the island of Madeira has migrated from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. Have we missed something? Should we have drunk lots of the excellent Madeira wine before attempting the quiz?
