Fife College was this week basking in an HMI report which said 80 per cent of 150 lessons observed by inspectors were very good or good. Teaching approaches in some classes and lack of student awareness of the services available to them wee singled out for attention. Moray College in Elgin, meanwhile, faces a budget deficit and was this week enduring two days of industrial action from lecturers protesting at a management pay offer of 1.5 per cent over 16 months.
