I am going to have to read the TES Scotland more often. That was a tremendous article by Mike Russell in ScotlandPlus (“Taking Catholic point of view,” February 28).

As an agnostic who spends much time in Catholic schools in the course of my job, I constantly tell people that they create a highly nurturing environment for kids, which is why they produce better results.

Anyone who doesn’t believe it should be forced to spend half a day in a Catholic school - in fact half an hour would be enough - just watching and listening, instead of talking and writing wholly unsubstantiated drivel about the causes of sectarianism.
