Have you put away your winter anorak hoping not to see it until next year? Rescue it and challenge yourself or your pupils to brave the elements of the Antarctic.

The Natural History Museum is staging an exhibition to take you through a series of mini environments to experience extreme conditions faced by scientists researching this fragile continent.

Schools visiting its Ice Station can handle specimens from Antarctica and make comparisons in order to develop their understanding of adaptations and habitats.

Those with video-conferencing can follow up their visit via a live link, providing an opportunity to ask questions and discuss themes relating to the science and geography curriculums.
