Traditional games have fallen out of favour with today’s secondary pupils, who are more likely to amuse themselves than play with others at break-times, a study has found. More than 2,000 children, parents and teachers were interviewed for the survey by Sainsbury’s. It found that the top five playground games are sending texts, playing football, using hand-held computer games, reading celebrity magazines and eating sweets, chocolates and crisps.
