Temperatures in some of the city’s private finance schools are “positively Mediterranean”, according to the local association of the Educational Institute of Scotland, with thermometers regularly reaching 32 degrees - five above the designated maximum.
One home economics room recorded 37 degrees, inducing “a level of sweat that would be uncomfortable in the Costa del Sol”.
In addition to recording and reporting instances of overheating, EIS members are advised to request fans and cold drinks to counteract the discomfort.
One solution might be to bring back swimming pools.
