Wakefield council has become the first to use new legislation to stop travellers occupying school land.
The Labour-controlled council says it will use the Anti-Social Behaviour Act to “combat the scourge of illegal encampments”.
The no-go areas include Spring Mills playing fields in Ossett, Gawthorpe recreation ground, Kettlethorpe high’s playing fields, and land behind Sandal Magna school, Agbrigg.
