Councils slow to include governors

ONE in six councils is struggling to get parent-governors on to their education committees, as required by law, the latest figures reveal. All 150 English authorities were supposed to have at least two paren-governors in place by June, but five have none and another 20 have only one. The Government said the authorities had been contacted and they would be holding elections shortly.
