BIODIVERSITY WORKSHOPS

Action for Biology in Education is running workshops for non-specialist primary teachers, demonstrating how to use school grounds and the locality to identify plants and animals and how a nature diary project, including use of the Internet, can be a whole-school learning experience. LITERACY IN THE NATIONAL CURRICULUM AT KS3-4

Institute of Education in-service training at 20 Bedford Way, London WC1, for teachers of English, history, geography, sociology and religious education. JERWOOD FILM PRIZE

Aspiring screenwriters aged under 25 are invited to write a screenplay for a 10-minute film on any subject by June 12. The winning script will be filmed by Working Title Films, screened in Warner Village Cinemas nationwide and broadcast on Channel 5. A runner-up script will be filmed, produced and screened on Channel 5. The judging panel includes: actors Robert Carlyle and Emma Thompson, film-making team Joel and Ethan Coen, and screenwriter and director, Anthony Minghella.
