SCHOOL EXCLUSIONS, APPEALS amp; COMPLAINTS, SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS, THE SCHOOL AS AN EMPLOYER AND KEEPING OUT OF COURT AND THE PAPERS A series of one-day law courses run at the University of North London, Ladbroke House, 62-66 Highbury Grove, London N5 for school governors to explain the legal process involved in decision-making. Using a mixture of lectures, questions and answers and role-play, each session will give advice on how a school's governing body should deal with the complex and sometimes contentious matters. Participants will work with American author and poet Carol Burnes to explore personal images and metaphors. The course includes: spontaneous exercises in writing, movement, drawing and silent time for writing followed by group discussion and feedback. Fee: pound;35, concessions: pound;25.
