School: Ballater Primary, Aberdeenshire, pupil roll 125, classes involved P1-34-7,head Phil Benzie What was the best arts company to visit your school in the past year? The Covenant Players How long did they spend with you? A couple of hours. They did two sessions, one with P1-3, the other with P4-7 What did they do? They (two men, one woman) performed a series of short plays exploring ideas of behaviour as in friendships, arguments, any of the situations that might fall within school experience. After each they would ask the children who had been right and who had been wrong.

Did you do any preparation? No, none was necessary.

Did you do any follow-up work? We had class discussions on the various themes featured. What did the visit cost? pound;100 What was so good about it? The way they grabbed the children’s attention and the discussions they had afterwards.

How relevant was it to the curriculum? We had asked for issues like behaviour and discipline, because that was what we had been working on in personal and social development.
