Schools have a chance to combine environmental work with French, and a taste of life on the other side of the channel, if they apply to the Franco-British Council for a school partnership prize.
Primary, secondary and special schools should plan an environmental project with a partner school in France for the next academic year.
Credit will be given for work that is well integrated into the curriculum and also benefits the schools and local communities.
Prize money, totalling pound;5,000 for three winners, may be used to create a real or virtual link between schools, for a visit to France, or for an exchange.
The council promotes better understanding between the two countries through a programme of meetings and reports by experts in education, science, the arts, politics and business.
Applications to be completed by May 22 can be obtained on www.francobritishcouncil.org.uk
