Younger generations are missing out on “crucial” childhood experiences of the outdoors, according to a poll released this week by the RSPB. The survey by the bird-protection charity showed that 15 per cent more of over 55-year-olds had enjoyable memories of tree climbing and daisy chains than interviewees between the ages of 15 to 34. Overall, four out of five felt schools had a vital role in providing these experiences to children.
