Since five out of the 10 city technology colleges with a Year 11 intake achieved above average GCSE results this year, your front page headline “CTCs fall short of excellence” (TES, November 25) could equally have read “CTCs achieve excellence” and there should have been equal column space given over to the undoubted positive achievements in curriculum development and raising standards in all the colleges rather than focusing almost exclusively on the negative.
Surely we should expect a balanced report.
