A 17th-century man’s jacket, found in an attic in Killiecrankie, goes on show at Perth Museum and Art Gallery next week. The doublet-style jacket, dated 1620, is made of silk and accessorised with knee breeches and a neck ruff. It has been restored by a specialist company in Edinburgh. A replica has been made for visitors to try on. “It will be exhibited with music and paintings from the same period,” a spokeswoman for the museum says. “A DVD of the restoration process will also be shown.” A 17th-century Family Fun Day on February 3 includes a miniature re-enactment of the Battle of Killiecrankie.
