Talented young poets are being sought as part of this year’s celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns.
The Hame Poetry contest invites pupils to explore the diversity of language across Scotland and contribute to a poetry anthology being published later this year. They can write in English, Scots, Doric or Gaelic, as long as they express the idea of “home”.
The competition, run by Learning and Teaching Scotland, is open to any young person aged 5-18. Winners will attend the official launch of the anthology with leading Scottish poets.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the LTS Homecoming website. Closing date is March 27.
