A Curriculum for Excellence

I’m studying towards a PGDE and have to get to grips with A Curriculum for Excellence. The lecturers keep referring to how this will solve all problems and be more holistic, focusing on the individual. It sounds wonderful but seems rather abstract.

I can see that it will allow more flexibilty and process, as opposed to thematic teaching, but that’s it. I have visited the ACfE website and read the minister’s response, but it isn’t really giving me anything other than rhetoric and political promise.

I have nothing concrete to work with and am having difficulty comprehending how it will be applied.
