An interactive, performance-based education programme for young women about the choices they face every day and the perceptions they have of success, self-image and future possibilities.

Touring Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian, Glasgow, Stirlingshire, Dundee in October and November.

Things to know: For young women: S3-S4 or age 14-18 out of school. The programme is a dynamic combination of live performance, creative participation, debate, role-play and group work. Group size is limited to 50 to ensure active participation.

* Scottish Opera For All Alberich’s Curse Complementing Scottish Opera’s Ring Cycle, a new mini-opera in SOFA’s upper primary repertoire. High adventure and high drama with a host of colourful characters.

Touring October-June 2002

Things to know: Whole-day project; maximum 100 children.

Ring Cycle Project Complementing the main company’s work, a four-year project for secondary schools, contributing to curriculum units in music, drama, English and visual arts.

Expressive Arts Classes for age groups 3-5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14 and 15-plus years, in music and drama, beginning in September.

* Tag Theatre Company Dr Korczak by David Greig A new, interactive play for young people aged 12 and over about Janusz Korczak, a renowned writer (including King Matt) and paediatrician in 1930s Warsaw, contrasting his humanistic thinking on children’s rights with the inhumanity of the Holocaust.

Touring secondary schools September-November.

Things to know: 90 minutes, maximum audience 60. Major strand in the four-year Making the Nation project. Relates to environmental studies, social subjects, expressive arts, English language, personal and social development, religious and moral education. Free resources pack.
