Dads end up in the doghouse

Children rate their pets higher than their fathers, a survey revealed this week. The children’s charities NCH and the Pre-school Learning Alliance asked 500 primary pupils what made them smile most. More than 46 per cent said friends and just over one third said their mums. Pets were rated by 9.9 per cent of children while only 9.4 per cent mentioned their father.
