A consultation has been launched on new rules governing Contact Point, the controversial database that will record information on all children. The proposed changes mean it will include children who go to school in England but whose parents live overseas. Updates will also mean that when a child’s name is shielded, the identities of parents will also be hidden. Children’s minister Delyth Morgan said the Government was on track to begin rolling out Contact Point later in the year.
