Ministers are keen these days to harangue teachers for failing to innovate and not keeping up to date, unlike doctors who are always testing and experimenting. “Yes,” Judith Gillespie of the Scottish Parent Teacher Council told Deputy Education Minister Peter Peacock last week, “but they check that they do not kill people first.”
