Debate starts here

A conference is being held to address why history is important to education and national life in the early 21st century.

The conference, Why History Matters, hopes to start a debate between teachers, academics and policy makers and solve some of the arguments over how the subject should be taught. The event is being held on February 12 and 13 at the Institute of Historical Research in London.
