Ahead of a council meeting this coming Monday, the SSTA warned that it was "unacceptable" for promoted staff to apply for what are classed as new posts. "Those staff not successful would be effectively demoted, albeit with conserved salaries. The SSTA will not accept such a situation," David Eaglesham, the union's general secretary, said.
