TODAY, totally unexpectedly, our headteacher resigned.
She is respected and liked by all the staff at this special school which provides for 48 primary-aged children with physical andor medical disabilities and sensory impairments and associated learning difficulties. She inspires teamwork and dedication in all who work at the school.
In her letter of resignation she notes the myriad initiatives which make the rate of cange very challenging and her feeling of responsibility at seeing dedicated and talented teachers worn down by the ever-increasing workload.
In addition, she wrote about the management of performance pay and her feelings that this is divisive and one that threatens the strong team that she has built up.
We are devastated.
