IT’S hard to believe that it was only four months ago that we first met the Werthers toffee grandad and his team. But with the new term came the report and the duty to produce an action plan to right our wrongs.
Fortunately, the wise inspectors saw little to criticise and much to praise, and their discernment was evident in the verdict that we governors are “knowledgeable and effective” and worked well in tandem with an “excellent” head and, of course, we picked her.
he action plan, which we have 40 days to put before parents, is well under way, with just three points to address, all which had been included in last year’s school development plan.
The report deemed 83 per cent of the teaching was good or better, so we assumed parents would be pleased. Yet still they mutter “they can’t possibly know what goes on in the rest of the year”.
Ah well, at least we don’t have to use the same phrase as a defence for a bad report.
