Diary - Effing Irish

What words are banned at your school? If you take your lead from the Irish parliament, it will include rat, scumbag and buffoon.

But one word has inexplicably escaped the censors - the one that begins with F and rhymes with luck. The omission was unearthed when Paul Gogarty, an Irish Green Party politician, became angry in the Dail Chamber. Emmet Stagg, a member of the opposition, accused him of "bleating and blathering". Mr Gogarty replied: "With all due respect, in the most unparliamentary language, fuck you Deputy Stagg. Fuck you."

It has emerged that the expletive is not one of the terms outlawed in the Irish parliament. The list of unseemly words is due to be reviewed.
