The general consensus regarding mobile phones and schools is that the two simply do not mix. But a new study gives weight to pupils’ arguments that they should be able to keep their phones with them.

According to Professor Gary Arendash at the University of South Florida, who conducted a study on mice with symptoms of Alzheimer’s, exposure to the electromagnetic waves emitted by cell phones could not only protect against the disease but even reverse it.

“It surprised us to find that cell phone exposure, begun in early adulthood, protects the memory of mice otherwise destined to develop Alzheimer’s symptoms,” Professors Arendash says.
