A programme to support and strengthen the leadership of directors of children’s services is being developed for the Government by the National College for School Leadership, the Association of Directors of Children’s Services and the Children’s Workforce Development Council. It follows the sacking of Sharon Shoesmith, Haringey’s director of children’s services, over the Baby P scandal.
