Discrimination not found by tribunal

AS chairman of the corporation board of West Oxfordshire college, I am writing in response to your article concerning the dismissal of Trevor Jones from the college (FE Focus, March 17).

This article contained factual inaccuracies. I am extremely concerned about the statement that “at the employment tribunal in October, the tribunal chair stated that Trevor Jones had been discriminated against - contrary to the Disability Discriminatin Act 1995”. This is incorrect. The tribunal chair did not make this comment. No finding of discrimination was made against the college at any stage of the proceedings.

The editor replies: Our report should have said that the chairman of the tribunal stated that Mr Jones claimed he had been discriminated against. We apologise for this serious omission.
